PRESSING PROCESS

Each facing brick is manufactured by compressing the clay with water within a mold which defines the shape of each individual piece. After drying off the water added for the extrusion, the bricks are fired in an oxidizing atmosphere in a Tunnel Kiln. Each model is burned at its own optimal firing temperature (always >1000º C) which turns the clay into a very robust and beautiful brick.

It is this process that allows the formation of bricks of such unique geometry required to achieve our unique thin or shadow joints.

Finally and before being packed, the bricks are waterproofed by immersion or soaking with a silicon compound after leaving the kiln. This treatment improves their already high liability, facilitates cleaning and keeps wall assemblies attractive and free from contamination over a long period of time.
